From their website [1]:

My teaching style is a combination of joy, discipline, and love. From the moment the lights turn on, the studio has electrifying energy. Giggles, smiling sweaty faces, and students cheering for each other creates a welcoming atmosphere for success. The mentality of my dancers is one of the high values that bolsters them through all of their life endeavors. Carrying oneself with class, dignity, and kindness are some of the many qualities my students embrace at The Smyth School.

Dancers are trained as elite athletes with concentrations in personal development, injury prevention, nutrition, and mindset. I use a growth-mindset teaching method, meaning there are no set abilities in dancers. I avoid fixed-mindset remarks that cramp a dancer’s confidence and willingness to fail. Every class is an exciting new challenge, as this is where growth happens. With the right mindset and hard work, anything is possible for anyone.

Our teachers grow personally alongside each and every child showing them great love. Together, we are lifetime learners and motivate students to set their eyes above, as they passionately work towards goals. Perseverance is an asset to The Smyth School. We believe putting effort towards goals and planning action steps to reach them is the key to achieving excellence in all areas of life. Classes are inspired by teamwork, positivity, and creativity from all participants. I seek to be a role model by motivating dancers to surpass their biggest dreams. We rise by lifting each other up as a family, taking every small victory into account. Dance from the heart, develop the mind, enjoy the moment… Let’s Rise!
