Jackson Irish Dancers
From their [1] website:
Since 1998, Jackson Irish Dancers has brought classes, performances, and Irish dance events to Mississippi and beyond. Under the direction of Catherine Sherer Bishop, MFA, TCRG, we perform, teach and sometimes even compete from Ireland to Dallas and from New Orleans to Memphis – and especially right here at home. We’re not focused on competition like many Irish dancing schools; instead, we do this for the craic – in Irish, the good fun of it all. Our members enjoy all kinds of Irish dancing, from the up-on-your-toes Riverdance-style solo dance to the casual fun of céilí dancing, sets, and sean-nós (old-style) dance.
With a great local community of musicians and venues, we get on the dance floor often – come join us! We offer classes for kids and adults, occasional workshops and masterclasses, and plenty of casual get-togethers to learn some dancing. You can book us to dance or teach at your festival, school, church or club; and you can catch our performance group onstage.
