Carle School of Irish Dance
From their website [1]:
The Carle School is committed to the Southern Tier community and to teaching traditional Irish Dance within our community. Our goal is to meet the needs of all our students: from those who are competing at the highest levels of Irish Dance, to those who wish to simply enjoy the wonderful sport and art form that is Irish Dance. The Carle School has deep ties to our community and it is also our goal to continue to entertain people in our community through the many dance performances that we give year-round at festivals, nursing homes, parades, and more.
Students at the Carle School learn so much more than traditional Irish step dancing. They learn skills that last a lifetime. Our competitive dance students learn goal-setting and learn how to work towards achieving their goals. Our competitive students also learn teamwork, poise, self-control, and how to win and lose gracefully. Through our many opportunities for dancing at events in our community, all of our students learn how to be comfortable in front of an audience, and they learn the value of community service. Our dancers also achieve a high level of physical fitness through their dance.
For over 20 years, the Carle family has been providing traditional Irish Dance instruction to students in the Binghamton area. The Carle School was formerly the McGuire School of Irish Dancing, which was under the direction of Jo-Ann Carle. In 2003, when the school passed into the capable hands of Jo-Ann’s daughter, Siobhan, she opted to change the name to The Carle School. Siobhan Carle-Roma is an Irish Dance instructor (TCRG) certified by the An Coimisiun Le Rince Gaelacha (CLRG) in Irish Dance.
